OOC Forum Rules

We have a few basic rules and guidelines that, as Administrators, we expect to be followed in these forums. Violation of the rules may result in a warning or an outright ban from the game, depending on the severity of the infractation - and severity is decided by the Administration. As these forums are public and accessible to a wide variety of people, we do ask you, visitor, guest, member, to please uphold a modicum of decorum and respect for your fellows.

1 - No profanity. You know what that means. Do not use terms, expressions, or words that would make grandmothers blush and stammer uncomfortably. There are about 500,000 words in English. Stay away from the words and expressions that might get you into trouble. This includes graphic violence or sexual content, and as a bit of advice, you might consider avoiding religion and politics as conversation topics as well.

2 - Be courteous. You are going to run into people who you like, and then there will be those you dislike. You will disagree; it is part of life. Before you start a flame-war, take a breath. If you feel someone has "crossed a line" with you, either take it into private or contact the relevant Forum Moderator.

3 - The OOC Forums are in English. Write in English. Honor the basics of punctuation - sentences end and paragraph breaks are not your enemy. Avoid leetspeek. Sign your name. Yes, really.

4 - The OOC Forums are OOC. Do not use them for IC recruitment, propaganda, or debates. You can display your rank and position in your IC group if you wish, but leave politics behind when you log in here.

5 - Avatars are regulated. Avatars used in this forum are to be 60x60 pixels. Signature banners should not be larger than your message, and should be less than 30k. Hosting MAY be available through your MasterGroup, at the discretion of the MasterGroup. The forums are intentionally light on images so as to facilitate load times. Avatar subjects and signature banner content should uphold the OOC Forum Rules. Keep them clean. As a matter of common courtesy, try not to choose an avatar already in use by another person.

6 - Do not spam. In addition, do not advertise or solicit other products here, distribute virii, or so on. Basic courtesy and common sense. If you are a member of a different online community seeking conference with the Administration or permission to make yourself known to the players here, contact the Administration via email prior to posting here.
