I put in some changes on TheWord with some Help Wanted issues.

I also put in my idea for extending the rewards system. Not only can you can XP, you can get achievements to differentiate your character.

http://www.swcic.net/theword/Rewards_System

Let me know what you guys think about it, what we can do to make it better. More examples are appreciated too Smile

Those examples and ideas are great. Just have to think of a few more of them. Where would these be displayed?
Maybe for the RA the bounty on them could be raised Wink
Some uniforms have "tabs" on them, could that be a way to use them?

I was thinking in the medals area. But also the tagline that can go under the character name.

For everyone post, you would see something like
Code:

Lando Calrissian
Hero of the Battle of Taanab

I'm trying to think of other examples that can't be given in the game rules.
Maybe something like
Code:

Designer of the Death Star
(Bevel Lemelisk perhaps?)

I know this may not happen yet if the Death Star wasn't designed. But for currently available technologies, I could see if a character wants to be known for such inventions.

Possibly something like
Code:

Member of the noble house of Organa
(Princess Leia)

That is more a background thing, not necessarily an achievement. But it would solidify her background a little bit (she may be the only Organa family member to remain after Alderaan's destruction?)

Now that I think about it, in-game actions should receive achievements too. If a certain Skywalker managed to hit a hole the size of a womp rat, why not give them a
Code:

Destroyer of the Death Star

mark?

I'm thinking all kinds of things. How would people like this system and how would it remain fair?

Thats is more of an achievement from IC action rather than OOC action that support the game.

From a moderating point of view, this helps determine the level of fame of the character. Being the Hero at the Battle of Taanab would be greatly useful in that area. Diplomatic checks are easier to do and so on. However people recognize you more (which may be a good thing or a bad thing).

As for an OOC reward, we may need to have some cool stuff added that have flavor or mild mechanical value. Like extra force points, unique equipment, and so on.

And an off topic point, Bevel Lemelisk did not design the Death Star. This design was created by the CIS but Count Dooku hand it over to Palpatine (in the movie). However, Bevel Lemelisk solved a lot of the design issues that could prevented the completion of the Death Star. Without his knowledge of the galaxy's technologies, the Death Star would be just a giant spherical carrier, instead of a doomsday weapon. But I disgress...

Let's not forget Qui Xux and the think-tank at the Maw, as well.

But Evaders is an old hand at Rebellion, like myself and before Lucasfilm retconned it, it was set in our minds, that Lemelisk was the chief designer. Then, as the JA books came out, it changed into that he just took all of the credit for himself ... huh ? Oh yeah, I digress as well Laughing

we could still use IC and OOC for this. maybe use different colors to note it.

Creator of "The Word" in Gold for example

then

Corellian Bloodstripes in Silver maybe

MG's would have to nominate the Hero of a battle me thinks.

isn't digression what this is all about?

It's all to stimulate ideas.. more the merrier Wink

Would MGs have to be involved in historical events where they weren't involved? The whole battle was essentially just the Taanab people versus pirates. I think we can give credit for such background 'achievements' without affecting actual in-game stats.

I like the ideas, both. Though I agree with Ceden that they should be able to enhance your character good or bad. I like the medal systems. They would able to distingiush people and make them legends to be talked about for courage, outstanding service, etc.

I like the bit about fame, how about infamony as well?

Though I think the medals for IC should be devloped whent eh event happens, not my call, but so that past heroes that have earned, get to boaast about them and not given to people for lesser things.

My 2 cents, though I really like the ideas.
