I don't want to be the one head-honco here. I'm not going to name myself 'simmaster' or anything. I want this community to be shared, so here's my idea on running things here at SWCIC.

Setting up a Community Foundation that will be in-charge. This will be a volunteer group to manage the community and the future of this community. Each person will have a voice on the foundation.

There will be different commitees to handle certain areas.

* Update: Since no one is objecting, let's get going:

Rules
- Responsible for establishing the rules to implement, along with the policies for the community

Members:
Evaders99
Uliq
Joshua Furlong
Vin Caiden
SyberJedi
Stratus
Draco Creed
Khazaar Garf

Technical
- Responsible for implementing the rules in code and running the server and sites

Members:
Evaders99
Stratus
Draco Creed
Eric Jackson

Graphics
- Reponsible for developing all the graphics for the site

Members:
Uliq
Coral Dayton
Cyndre (guest member)

Community
- Responsible for the OOC activities (gatherings, publicity, etc) and the IC environment (all the group leaders), player-player interaction out of character

Members:
Joshua Baer
Uliq
Blighton
Stratus

Moderation
- Responsible for managing the IC environment and developing the storylines for scenarios, player-player interaction in-character

Members:
Vin Caiden
Erwin Kliest
Zayri Cresh
Kanlao
Kooro
Jessica Taylor
Khazaar Garf

I believe that's all we'll need for now. You can join one or more these groups.

Seems solid to me. Is there going to be a main body like a 'council of the wise' with a representative of all of these commitees, so people are working as a combined unit rather then all with there own agendas?

At this point, I'm thinking it would be small enough so that each person could be a part of the decision. There would be a committee spokesman to update everyone on the progress of their group. I'm going to shy away from an executive group, as it will probably just leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

Well, you can hook me up for graphics and rules.

I also sometimes moderate little scenarios on our MG board, but I don't know, if I could mod larger ones, too.

Oh yeah and I have little to no knowledge of php, except that it looks mostly like C++ to me Rolling Eyes

Well PHP is C syntax. Except, no need for variable types. Smile

Everything else is basic HTML forms and SQL queries. If you want to learn, just start out with a simple tutorial and I can give you some resources to test with.

I've updated the listing so far. I hope more people will checkin here.

Stratus is a part of the Technical team, as a staff on our host
Cyndre is a guest member of the Graphics team, as he worked on this theme (I hope he decides to stop by)

Oooohh, that reminds me of the "variant" type in VB. Helpful, but it can also end in disaster, if not implemented correctly.

I'll try to learn more about it first and then I can still tell you, whether I feel confident enough to help out in that area Wink

Hey Evaders, you forgot to put me down for the rules list- Force rules, remember? The set of rules you helped me work on for so long?

SyberJedi

Oh, for some unknown reason, I can't log in. I'm not on my own computer, and the security code won't show up on the system I'm using.
