Hmmm, seeing as how we don't "stick" to canon here and do our own thing. WE create Basic dialects.

How many versions of English are there? Dang, there are other things to do here than complain about this.

Since you don't 'stick' to canon here, I'd like to have a detailed timeline when this version of the SW universe began to differentiate from the canon SW universe, including every event that happened in canon history, but didn't happen here. I'd also like a detailed listing of all 'dialects' of Basic that has been created on here so I know who and what my character will be able to communicate with. Also, if it's not too much trouble, I'd also like a list of every non-canon element that's been introduced here on SWCIC so that I don't make any mistakes in my attempts at roleplaying here.

This is exactly why Evaders is in the process of setting up a "Game Wiki" to help everyone to see the difference in our game canon and Star Wars Universe canon.

However, dialects shouldn't exist for Basic but there should be accents. A good example on Earth which should be a good parallel, this time around, is that New Yorkers have an accent that are different from those in Baltimore, Chicago, or even Los Angeles. But its not so different that its a dialect, just how its pronounced, etc.

I like that idea.

If you don't mind me posting an offsite link, this is something I wrote up on a SW-themed PBP (play-by-post) forum that I help administer. It's not very detailed, but it gives a general overview of the history and current situation of the SW universe as it exists on our board.

http://forums.bladesedge.net/showthread.php?p=3340#post3340

There is also an extensive Reference section that we try to continuously update as needed. And yes, there are non-canon elements rampant on the board, but they are all pre-approved by the Staff before being implemented and/or allowed.

Nice work on that link you have, do you think you can post something similar on our game-wiki if you get the right information? It would need the cooperation of our founding members, but i'm sure we could get it to you.

With the right information, I'm sure I could write up something similar. I'm aware it may take some time to gather up all the needed information, and I can't make a guarantee on how long it would take me to write something up. I'm not that great of a writer.

For the Leb thing, as she seems to be a point of focus here, the best way to display her char is she comes from a remote village on Corulag, that seems to be similar to a Amish Commune community in RL... only they speak a different language and have a slightly different culture compared to the rest of the Galaxy. Probably some spat between a small group of the Coruscant colonists and the larger group would be a good IC reason behind this. She does, however, know enough of Basic to communicate among her peers, just a little slower then some may prefer. This is probably a little too late, and to the point of annoyance among some... but I though my two cents would be helpful on explaining that situation.
