I see there are some questions about what actions players can take on the IC forums, esp towards dice-rolling. Perhaps we can address them here
Guidelines on what people can do, and basics of setting up the dice rolls? What do they use to get the number of dice, how do they roll the dice, how do they determine sucess or failure
Simple actions such as:
- Fire blaster
- Hit with sword?
- Evade fire
etc...
Any models from games such as KOTOR which you find useful, post them

I think KOTOR used much from the WOTC D20 rules. The only difference I could see was some feats and less overall skills, to keep it simple for people, that didn't know RPGs at all.
The damage is easy enough with providing stats for each weapon, but to decide whether it hit an opponent or not, that's another pair of shoes. The least they'd have to know would be the opponent's (PC / unit / …) defence score. Same goes for VP/WPs and the abilities, skills and feats to counter the attack.
For non-combat related actions, we could provide a table with sample DC scores that need to be beaten by their roll and the appropriate modifiers.

Actually, if we come up with our own set of base stats, there's no reason we can't put together a table for minor conflict actions either for non-database affecting stuff.

And see this is why I think it's nuts that someone is being allowed to start a DB effecting scenario that is 'sim wide' all these questions, and no settled answers yet.
But everyone, the GE and the RA, are going to get tossed into a mass scenario, al la ToW.
Combat Actions for certain: "To Hit", Dodge, Damage, etc.
Actions that are not neccessarily a 'natural' action for characters, i.e. Searching for hidden traps, breaking into a computer, etc.
Basically, I think if a skill is worth being listed on the character sheet, then it more often than not will require a roll.

You think it's nuts that I'm allowed to start a sim wide scen, because of what unanswered questions? How to hit someone? What assests an MG has? I already have the answers to those.

As much as we can develop for the player to progress, without requiring a GM to handle everything, would be quite good. (By progress, I mean not just by 'clicking buttons' either hehe)

alright I bet it is safe to say most of these threads can be locked, and I'll update those I deem that need to be updated.
