Well, I'm certainly not new, but I'm willing to be an example.
Let me introduce myself. I'm SyberJedi, aka Kaylene SyberJedi. SJ for short. I am a member of the rules team here, and one of Evaders' admins. My specialty happens to be the Force, though I do deal with more than just that. I'm mainly here on an OOC level, though I have recently returned to the IC side of things, back in May, to help get the Empire mastergroup back up and running. Besides helping with rules, I'm helping establish SWCIC's backstory, I moderate (or will), and I mediate when needed between MG leaders, Mods and elsewhere when needed.
As for my long involvement with Star Wars, and this group in paticular, I am one of the original fans of the Saga, going back to the first televised comercials shown on tv back in 1976. I started role playing Star Wars in 1990 with the original Star Wars RPG system by West End Games. In October of 1998, I joined The Star Wars Combine as an Imperial player. That is where I met Evaders, Stratus, and Charon. When Charon was forced from the Throne by the admins of SWC, I threw in with him and assisted in the forming of SWS. I left SWC due to differences of opinion on how the admins were handling things there a few months after the Split occured. My rules work started when Charon started up SWS, at his request. I championed the Force and Force users during the early development days, fighting and winning to keep it available to the players when others of the rules team wanted to fix it so that Force users were only NPCs. My time in SWS came to an end in June of 2005 when on an OOC level Seele threw out all the hard work that those of us who had been working on the Force rules had done. My IC involvement also ended at that time, due to bias on an IC level. My return to this overall community was when Evaders contacted me and asked me, along with others, for advice on what to do when Seele started cutting him out of SWS's development. I advised hijacking the game to him, along with other people.
As you can see, it was a good idea.

Go St. Louis!
I'll join in.
I am Zayri Cresh. I am part of the rules team as well as the lead Moderator for SWCIC. I have been a part of this place since mid 2003 when Charon had sent someone out to look for me to lead the Rebel Alliance when the group first came into foundation in SWSimulation. I had met Charon and others only a few times over the course of 3 yers before that in SWCombine.
I went on to lead the Rebel Alliance for a little over a year before I stepped down to pass leadership to others in favor of the changes that the characer of Zayri Cresh was experiencing. I now act as a Moderator, a Rules person, a Force person, a mediator and a general jack of all trades.

I ditto Zayri's feelings. GO St Louis.
I'll put my two cents worth in
I orginally joined shortly after the orginal slip from SWC, Spent time in the two major factions under Charon, Cresh and The current leaders. I've helping with rules and someday soon when certain mod leaders give me something to do I'll be part of the mod team.
My experince with star wars spans a good deal of the D20 books, plus some minor technical knowledge, as for my roleplaying experince. I've been a mod and a player in more then 5 star wars games and numerous fantasy and some gurps rpgs.

Too bad my Orioles suck...
I guess I'll put my little blurb on here also.
Back in November of 2002, I joined Evader's SWRebellion site. At that time, I was really into Rebellion and I was always playing either that or X-wing Alliance. It wasn't until around June of 2004 when I found SWSimulation off of the SWR site. I always wanted to RP Star Wars, but I think I was the only one in a 25 mile radius that was obsessed with Star Wars. I joined the RA and became a fighter jock.
That fall, I kinda had an unoffical loa due to it being my first year in college, but towards the end of the school year I finally got back into it. When the news came up about closing SWS, I was glad to hear that Evaders was setting up this site. I never could understand SWC and since SWS was going to become an offshoot of sorts, I wanted to stick to text-based. And basically here I am.
In a nutshell, I'm just a player here at SWCIC, though I'm hoping to learn how to mod when I get some time. My character is a fighter jock, as well as a medic. My rp experience has only been here at SWS/SWCIC and totals to about 2 years. I have to thank Evaders, because without his SWR site, I never would have found his other sites!

Can't be icehockey you people are talking about. Must be either baseball or that odd egg-throwing game. But anyway...
I was there at the dawn of it...
Back, when Ms Cresh was invited to run the RA here. Ironically, I actually joined RA, while I usually join GE -amusing how, some 5-6 years ago, I was even in the old SWC's GE under Charon. I turned a bit inactive after a while, and then, after a longer vacation, I returned to find my character deleted. Oh well, I thought, it didn't really matter much back then, since I was occupied with other games.
And well, after not RPing at all for more than half a year, it seems that I'm returning to it, somewhat.
And, Ms Cresh, today is history. The young will ask with wonder about this day (well, maybe not). Today is history and you are a part of it. For three years, I have not used a certain name. By this weekend, those three years, they're a rumor. They never happened. Today is history. It marks the return of the... V.

Welcome back.. I guess I knew you somewhere in the time under Charon

Thank you. But I don't think you remember me. I was just a lowly NCO.
And now you made me trying to remember the name of the legion I was in... AH!

Who is this person who goes by the letter V? Say your full name, you erroneous Rabble Appliance
Oh well, while I'm here, I might as well post.
I got into the Star Wars RPing in February 2003 because of Mak Davar, my high school electronics teacher. He was the Moff of the Kuat Sector at the time, and as such, I went to the Kuat Sector in SWC. When the SWC/SWS split occured, I went over to SWS and was a lowly Flight Corporal and found myself pushed into the officer's ranks as an Ensign. I slowly made my way up the ranks to O-3 after a year and then got myself into a spat of trouble. Got sent to a different sector and shot over to the Army.
And that's where I've been since I've lived all over the place, from Virginia to Arizona. I'm no living in Texas and am a banker with a large bank that is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.

Yup, lime is obviously my color. So which V are/were you?
I can't see you on the RA roster, anyway.
I'll edit this post with my background story, after I've had a bit of a night's sleep and get home from work.
EDIT: I'm Uliq in here, but almost everywhere else people know me as the MASK. I know Evaders from the swrebellion board, where I signed up a little over 4.5 years ago and where I'm part of the Rebellion:Reloaded team.
In one of the threads in there people were talking about RPing one day and I remember Evaders mentioning SWS, so that's how I ended up joining the RA in June 04.
Back then, I was one of the few pilots, that we had and became the first one to lead an X-Wing squadron, slowly getting more and more responsibilities, until I was suddenly leading all of starfighter command. On a weird coincidence, all these promotions more or less happened, while one of the friends, that I dragged into the game was on LOA, so I told him to stop doing this, at some point
Well, he went on another one and so I'm leading the RA for a little over 1.5 years now.
Belately I learned never to think that it would stop there, cause in addition to that I'm leading the rules and graphics team and am a fellow site admin of Evaders and SyberJedi
With the combine it was the other way around for me, I guess. Since I only joined the game afterwards I never met Charon before he was forced out of his game and out of curiousity whether it was really as bad as some people claimed. Can't really say my focus shifted then, since I prefer the RPing in this game. Although I'm still somewhat active in there, but usually just to drag inactive people back to our game
