Keeping the News 'New' ( Done )

Hello all, yes I might not be the best or most well known but I know some who are. It has come to my attetion the discontent on all sides about the lack of genuinely new news. Since I'm just trying to start helping around here now since I know what happens, at least to a degree. So going to help around. As of again it is evident that news, hasn't been updated since april of this year. I'm meet many that it should be updated at least sometimes, and I'm just wnating to bring this to everyone's attetion.

Now this is directed, kindly to Evaders that I'll throw up some recommendations for this topic. First I say that some kind of action be taken soon.

I idea I have is that the News should updated once if not more by the discrettion of Evaders, so people can stay on the somae page. Infact, though embarrassing for myself, I asked and talked to some Imperials on mIRC and thought Reaven resigned infact he is still the acting leader of the GE.

This idea of updating the news every month would leep things at asteady pace, and most importantly staying up to date with the rest of the SWCIC community. It could also help Recruiting efforts in a sense that they might see no genuine new news and since april they could think a multiutude of things and it go against thier chances of joining. In the updating part it could just be something mior becuase the IC haven't all that active lately, and Evaders posting new news would keep things at asteady pace and keeping everyone on the smae page.

Just to clarify while being in the middle of cooking dinner ...

Revan did resign back then. There was a long discussion of who would eventually take over and only a bit after that, he came back and was given back command over the GE, by the mastergroup's leader at this time.

Adding to that the very important purpose of updating the news is critical for basic communication and news and new events happening, keeping everyone on the same page, new and old alike.

What I might recommend is that you might just update people very month or so, IC stuff be nice but as we both know not much is happening except withing the HQ's.

What I do mean even if it is petty stuff, just let the community know that any thing hasn't slowed or something. Maybe a idea of Posting Reaven back as the acting leader of the GE. Or just samll update post to keep things on track. Very Happy

I'd like to see it too, but what Evaders is saying is that it's our responsibility to send him stuff to post. He can't write all the news, all the time, and so we, as players in each MG, should be sending him the things our MG would like to see up there.

I do agree that a leadership change should be covered, but, once again, that would all depend on what is released to the public to see, and once again, falls upon US to submit.

I know there have been issues of admins playing for and representing the factions, not necessarily in our game. In that respect, whatever news the groups want released (and I do encourage them to keep as much public in promoting the game), I'll be happy to get the word around.

I receive a report from the group leaders every month (or at least I should). Not all of it is relevant news for all players. So I really rely on others to determine what should be announced.

Thanks Drek and Evaders for that bit of wisdom. It clears things up, so now I encourage the MG's to please post something, the best I can think is of the GE, Reavan when he came back, that way it's some thing important a good start maybe, or just something to consider.

What if people want to submit news through me for a fee? I'll make sure that it gets an official seal and that you get a nice little receipt for your payments.

Anonymous news that may get the author killed? Sure.. sounds like a good market to tackle. You'd still have to have a site to post it, otherwise I think you're clients will be seeking you for fraud

Alright folks as you can see, I'm the Community Manager, and I'm charge of may things, including the news.

If you the player have any recommendations for news, send them to your MG Leader, GE Revan Centurion, RA Masken, and SI Jinx Baz, once passed by them, please forward them to me, then I'll pass it onto Evaders for his approval, and by then hoppefully it'll be up.
