Shockball - 2007 signup

Last year, we ran the shockball event and had 10 teams. The Navy Commodores defeated the Svrenni Runners in the Championship game.

This year we will do the same if there are enough interested.

XP will be rewarded for post giving a IC recap of the game that your team was participating. This is optional and not required.

Consideration will be given to those who played last time around.

Shockball is our Star Wars equivalent of NFL football. To simulate that, we will be using Fanasty Football over at ESPN.com. We make the teams based on a fanasty draft of real NFL players. Each week, every team will be matched up and their real life counterparts determine who wins, based on player performance (in some cases, the defensive and special teams of a particular team).

After points are tallied, the team with the highest win. Last year, the Navy Commodore, based on Corellia won the league. This year, we are creating the league, some with the same teams, and some new ones.

You are welcome to join. You can get XP for roleplaying the "sports news" about the match your team played. Thats about 17 weeks of roleplaying opportunity with each week providing some XP.

Very nice if we have a full roster, but so far we only have a few.

Those who are considering joining the league, please register an account at ESPN.com. If you already have one, then no problem there.

Secondly, please email me your email address so that I can sent a league invitation to those that have signed up. My email is csirce at gmail dot com.

So, aside for registering an account on espn.com, do I create a team or wait until you send the league invitation?

Also, I don't find American Football very fascinating/I don't know much about players and stuff, so if I suck at this, I'm sorry in advance.

Now, if it was a hockey pool... I'd be set. Or even CFL.

You wait for the league invitation and then make your team for that league.

Thats ok. Yeehim doesn't follow American football and yet he won second place. It helps if you like American football but you don't have to play this if you don't want to.

If you doing this for the XP, then you should have fun coming up with descriptions of your team action on the field. (Note, they don't have to be human Smile

).
